Hey! So Glad You're Here.

Life comes at you fast, and sometimes in weird ways. What you choose to do in those instances is up to you. Here's what I mean ... and stick with me because it's a long and winding tale, but it eventually lands in the good place.

A few months ago, I was really having a hard time. The pandemic, working from home and not achieving a real work-life balance, politics—it was all just too much for me. I reached out to my Facebook family and asked how they were dealing with everything. I don't know that anyone really understood what my concerns were, but I got some interesting comments about how people were handling their various situations. I also got advice. A lot of advice. One piece in particular really resonated with me. "Write," he said. "Doesn't have to be anything that anyone will ever even read. Just write for yourself." Huh.

I had a blog before and loved writing for it, but there was too much pressure to come up with content. I constantly struggled to believe I had anything to say that would be of interest to anyone. Who cares what I think about anything? I'm also not even close to being an influencer, thankfully, so that kind of writing was out. But the idea of writing for me, and only me, was intriguing.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I have a friend. We'll call him Bill. He started writing these brief recaps of Sopranos episodes and sending them to me in the middle of the night so that they'd be the first thing I would see in the morning. Reading them is really and truly my favorite part of the day. So I thought, Hey, I can do that! And then I thought, Hey, I can do that as my writing assignment! And then I saw that my all-time favorite show, The OC, was running on HBO Max and I knew that the planets were aligning behind this idea.

So here we are. With a full-fledged blog again. And unlimited content that I don't have to create. I just get to have fun and be funny.

And if you're out there reading this—well, thank you for your time. I'm delighted that you're here. I hope you enjoy the reading. I hope I make you laugh or turn you onto a band that's brand new to you. But mostly, I hope that I make myself laugh. And I hope that I find the calm that was missing in my life. Peace out.
